Mondelo has gotten Medal in all the championships in which he has taken part already as Young Teams Coach or as Head Coach of National Team since 2012.

In the four brightest years in the history of Spanish Women's Basketball, the National Team has lost just against three national teams: the United States in two finals, France in a European semifinal match and Sweden in the EuroBasket qualification of 2013 with Mondelo recently landed in the position leading a team under construction.
The spanish Nationl Teal has been European Champion (2013), Silver Medal in WorldCup (2014), Olympic Silver (2016) and European Bronze (2015) having more value, if possible, these two last medals to be produced without the participation of the franchise player team Sancho Lyttle due to physical problems.

In the act showed up also the natural substitute of Lyttle, Astou N'dour, Anna Cruz, Leonor Rodriguez, Laura Gil, Leticia Romero, as well as Jose Manuel Calderón, Ricky Rubio or Niko Mirotic in category masculine, with whom Mondelo agreed in The Rio Games.

For Mondelo, whose renewal in the words of President Garbajosa is one of the priorities of the new FEB management team, achieving this award is "a recognition to the players, the Federation, all those who work in clubs, all basketball female. I am lucky to be the tip of the pyramid and for me it is a responsibility. It is a great merit to be as high up in a sport as mediatic as basketball, one of the most practiced sports in the world. We have the bad luck to coincide with the United States, but there are also many teams, which should be there and they are not, who have had the misfortune to coincide with this Spain. I hope to continue to get success for the Spanish Basketball in a new Olympic cycle"
